Stephanie L. Cesare is an associate attorney with Abom & Kutulakis, L.L.P. focusing primarily on State and Federal criminal law. Prior to joining the firm, Stephanie worked at the Cumberland County Public Defender Office as a Senior Assistant Public Defender where she represented indigent criminal defendants charged with crimes ranging from summary offenses to serious felonies, including DUI, drug crimes, sex crimes, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, arson and others. She was also appointed by the Public Defender Office to represent all clients eligible for Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas Adult Drug Treatment Court, which provides participants an opportunity to pursue treatment for their addiction(s) while productively addressing associated legal problems.
Stephanie is a graduate of The University of Scranton. She then earned her Juris Doctor at The Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. While in law school, Stephanie worked at the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office as a Certified Legal Extern. Upon graduation, she received the Pro Bono Distinction, which is earned by those law students who have completed at least 60 hours of pro bono service in the community.
Following law school, Stephanie worked in private practice in Dauphin County and held several Dauphin County Court appointments, including Juvenile Conflict Counsel, Termination of Parental Rights Counsel and Paternity Counsel.
Stephanie’s experience as both a former public defender and a private criminal defense attorney leave her well prepared to defend the legal rights of people who are under investigation or are accused of a crime.
